Arlington, WA. (September 24, 2009) - Cowgirls Espresso, the originators of the concept, “Bikini Barista” is applauding local law enforcement for the arrest of five bikini baristas employed at the Grab-N-Go Espresso located in Everett, Washington. The baristas are being charged for prostitution and violating the city’s Adult Entertainment ordinance. Police reportedly conducted a two month investigation into the bikini-clad baristas' behavior after multiple customers complained. During the probe, police found inappropriate and lewd behavior.
“We do not condone this type of behavior and our franchisees uphold strict policies and the highest professional standards in the way our baristas treat our customers” says Jesse Molnick, CEO of Cowgirls Franchising, LLC. “It’s unfortunate but necessary and we are supportive of stricter guidelines for stands that need to use extreme tactics to lure customers as a replacement of an inferior coffee product and a lack of moral values in customer service” Molnick continues to say.
Cowgirls Espresso founded in 2002 by Lori Bowden operates 12 corporate locations and 6 franchised locations selling only the finest coffee with all employees properly attired in conformity of state laws and city ordinances. Cowgirls Espresso has been featured on numerous shows such as the Travel Channel’s, Extreme Fast Food, Nightline, and CBS Sunday Morning.
